When Lake Johku has frozen solid, we set off from the Harbour base to skate between the islands. The guide reads the ice, explains safe tour skating and takes you on a route that suits the day's conditions. Halfway we stop for a campfire break with hot juice.
Tour skating is easier than you think: the long blade glides smoothly, and the guide teaches the technique at the start.
